Video: A Little Taste of Combat

I went easy on myself tonight and played a very easy SBPro PE mission called "A little taste of combat." The last video seems to have been popular so here's another one documenting my charge through a small desert village and subsequent shooting up of an unsuspecting armored column.

I'll probably start narrating these soon, when I get to the point of having something intelligent to say!

  1. I'm gonna have to get SB fired up again. The ability to now save a scenario within a long mission is a great help now.

    1. Yep, that was a much needed feature. I would think SBPro PE would be right up your alley!

    2. I've had it for a couple of years now and i do still play it. Its the old story of finding time to really plan and execute it properly. It is tight up there with best stuff on my hard drive. Great sim.

  2. Nice video, that's my favorite quick and easy mission I play when I just want to kill targets, maybe before work or bed. ;)

I actually played and recorded the same mission back when it was first released, before 3.0. It's funny how we both played it basically the same way, yet you can tell our differences by how we played. Your more cautious and detailed, while I'm more aggressive.

    1. Chuck, I think you just described the difference between an ex-soldier and cop and an IT guy! :-)

I should play more aggressively, TGH. I've been known to miss opportunities to wreck the OPFOR due to being too cautious. I think Combat Mission with it's unforgiving nature has ruined me!

      Great video, btw!

    1. I'm sure I found it on steelbeasts.com, but when I went looking for it, it seems to be gone. Want me to send it to you?

  4. Many thanks - scenario received. (And removed the post with my email address on it)
Looking forward to giving it a run as I need a fairly straightforward SB scenario to get used to how to do things. It's a very impressive sim but I find can easily get overwhelming and a bit disorientating. Chris
